User management in ABBYY Flexicapture is managed from within the Admin and monitoring console. Ordinarily, this is accessed from the below URL:
http://<serverName>/FlexiCapture12/Monitoring/
If you are using ABBYY Flexicapture Cloud, this URL will be slightly different:
https://europe.flexicapture.com/FlexiCapture12/Monitoring/<tenantName>
Once this page has been accessed, you will be greeted with a login screen. Your login details should have been provided by WFD when your system was first set up.
If you are an on-premise client and using Windows Authentication, add /WinAuth on to the end of the URL to skip the login page.
Once logged in, navigate to the Settings page using the navigation at the top of the page.
When managing users in ABBYY Flexicapture, there is the concept of users and groups. Users are the actual login details people use to access the system. Groups allow permissions to be set on masse for a set of users.
Permissions can also be configured at a per-user level, but groups are always advised.
Creating a Group
To create a new user group:
- Navigate to the group's section and select New Group
- Give the group a descriptive name and a description
- Add any required users
- Select the permissions users within this group should have, the relevant ones will be
- Scanning Operator - Allows the loading of images using the Scanning Station
- Data Verification Operator - Allows the verification of documents ONLY at the data verification stage
- Verification Operator - Allows the verification of documents from both data verification and standard verification. They CANNOT view exceptions
- Senior Verification Operator - Allows the processing of documents from all queue
- Monitoring Operator - Allows access to the admin and monitoring console
- Project Setup Operator - Allows access to the project setup station and to the configuration of the ABBYY project itself. Note: it is only advised to give this role to users who are confident with configuring ABBYY Flexicapture projects
- Administrator - Can access all system functions
- Once relevant permissions have been selected, click save
Creating a User
There are multiple ways a user can be added to the ABBYY Flexicapture system. The easiest of which is to request the user in question navigate to the server URL and register as a new user
Asking a user to register themselves, allows them to set their own username/password combination right away.
Once a user has registered, an administrator needs to :
- Login to admin and monitoring and navigate to Settings > Users
- Find the user in the user list, click their username to edit
- Add the user to the required groups
- Click save
The user in question will now be able to log in and access the required stations.
