Symptoms

The task {10680620-66F5-4660-83AC-ACCCD38963D0} failed after the final attempt to execute its subtask failed. Maximum number of attempts: 2.

Cause

This is an error message that can be frustrating, as it is quite vague. The steps to take to try and work out what is causing:

Resolution

This is not a resolution as such. However, here are some options to work out what is causing the issue:

  • Create a brand new doc def, does that recognize correctly?
  • Check for event handlers, at both the project and batch level. Are they working?
  • Are there any .NET references in the project? If so, are they using the latest version of the ABBYY Library (ControllerInterop). - If this isn't the case, development work will be needed to update.
